Fencing in Ryhall
Fencing for Ryhall and Belmesthorpe, from estate panels in need of an upgrade to stone cottage gardens near the River Gwash.
Upgrading a Ryhall estate fence to composite or aluminium slats costs from about £240 per metre fitted at 1.8m high, while closeboard timber is £80–£100 per metre supplied and fitted on concrete posts. Fencing in Ryhall
Ryhall and Belmesthorpe sit on the River Gwash just north of Stamford, with stone cottages around the green and the church, and later estate housing built by the same post-war and modern housebuilders that worked in Stamford. Those estate fences were often put up as cheaply as possible, and many owners now want something sturdier, more private and lower in maintenance. We cover Belmesthorpe on the same basis, from cottages to newer houses.
For an estate garden, composite or aluminium slatted fencing on aluminium posts is a popular upgrade, as it never needs painting and gives a modern finish. Closeboard timber on concrete posts with gravel boards remains the best value. Around the older stone cottages, natural timber usually sits better, and we can match gates and screens to whichever system you choose. Near the Gwash, gravel boards and well-set posts matter more, because the ground there stays wetter.
What makes Ryhall different
Ryhall is on the limestone, which generally drains well and gives posts a firm footing. The Gwash runs through the village, though, and Rutland's flood strategy names Ryhall among the places with a few properties at river flood risk. On plots near the river we set posts in concrete at the right depth for wetter ground and keep all timber on gravel boards. The historic village is a conservation area with no Article 4 direction, so normal permitted development applies outside listed buildings.
A typical Ryhall job is an estate house with original panel fencing around the rear garden. We remove it, set aluminium or concrete posts, and fit composite slatted or closeboard panels, often with a matching side gate and a screen beside the patio. Plots near the Gwash get their gravel boards and posts set with particular care.
